About the PT to PX conversion
The point (pt) is a print unit equal to 1/72 inch. To render a point size on screen you convert it to pixels through the CSS reference of 96 pixels per inch.
Since there are 96 pixels and 72 points per inch, px = pt × 96/72 = pt × 1.3333. So 12pt is 16px, 9pt is 12px, and 18pt is 24px.
